I-79 at Bridge over Racetrack Road

Washington, PennsylvaniaMay 17, 20110 Comments

Troopers sit in the median on the edge of the bridges where I-79 crosses over Racetrack Road. They mainly target northbound traffic and when you make the bend just after the Racetrack Road offramp, they’ve already nailed you and will pick you up on the straight-away after crossing over the bridge.

Cop sits about a mile from racetrack road in a gravel path far out of view until you about 100 feet away from him. He can see both north bound and south bound traffic. The gravel patch is on the southbound side between busters ice cream and racetrack road. (The long straight stretch)

State Route 380 near State Route 286

Washingtown Township police and state police are on this road ALL the time. I commute on this road 4 times a week and they I see them at least twice a week. Watch for white lines and the state police like to hide on the turn around loops. Also, Washington Township’s finest also have their ENRADD units on the road at various points at least 3 times a year during PA’s "smooth operatior" program. This road it unmarked, so be sure to go 55 and keep your eyes peeled.

This is the new speed enforcement equipment "Enradd". Short for " Electronic-non radar device ".This is a infared timing device that is not detectable through conventional means , such as radar or laser detectors . You do not have to see the police car because the unit can be remotely operated .This is the newest equipment out there.Little information is known, such as :does the area have to be posted , or can they use Enradd at night. Be warned this may be coming to a town near you much info on the net , just search "Enradd" for more info
