Speed limit on bridge and into West Reading is 25 MPH, West Reading police set up detectors at 2nd Street, as you enter the borough. The times they make the most arrests is after an event at the Sovereign Center. I bought a ticket for $151.00 doing 41MPH.

Buttonwood St Bridge onto Reading Avenue

As one exits the Buttonwood Street Bridge, there are two white lines. Supposedly, that is where the speed trap is. The Bridge posts 25 mph speed limit. People pass me on the bridge every day (Mon-Fri) It is not enforced. When there is a speed trap, the tickets are very expensive. I have a clean record (no tickets in 35 years) and was given 4 points…I was not speeding…I believe it is a way for the borough to obtain revenue.

The police hide behind the billboards and buildings and use other methods to capture people driving in excess of the 25 mph speed limit.
