Johnston, Rhode Island Speed Traps

Those cops will be in the lot before the soft ice cream joint at the top of the hill, nailing traffic both East & West. Worst LEO’s in RI !!!

As you are driving east on Hartford Ave in Johnston heading toward Killingly street, going towards Providence, you will see a small graveyard on the right, then a slight bend to the left and down a steep hill. About another 400 feet on the right is the trap. The officers are ususally after a small conveinience store on the right, and right before City Limit Auto. The posted limit is 30mph and I have lived in the area for over 20 years and it is very difficult to go 30mph, especially down a steep hill like that. While in this area, ride the brake down the hill, keep it at 30 and you will get a break on a possible ticket. Good luck and God bless.

Due to increasing traffic on Allendale Ave. a cut through from George Waterman to Greenville Ave., after residents complaints, me being one of them…police are now targeting this street as a major cut through…people avoid Greenville Ave because it is a speed trap. Officers will be stationed at different times of the day giving out tickets…Speed Limit Is 20 MPH…you are in a residential neighborhood….kids live and play on this street. New signs will be posted for no through traffic meaning if you are ticketed in this area for speeding you will then be given another for using the street as a cut through if you don’t live in the neighborhood. Be Considerate…think of the fact that if these were your kids or your family…Go The Speed Limit…

They very often sit in the parking lot of St Robert’s Parish on atwood ave (rt 5). The church is located between Cherry Hill (where the police station is) and Greenvill Ave. They sit a little further back so you can’t see them until its too late. They also like to sit in teh Jehovah’s Witness temple right up the street…

Traveling west or east on rte 6 heading towards or from 295 State police located in median of atwood ave overpass, where the Home Depot is located speed limit is 50 mph and from either direction you are going down a steep hill. They will either chase or have another cop in trap usually if heading west under 295 [the end of rte 6] or if east before the killingly st exit one exit up from atwood ave
