West Warwick, Rhode Island Speed Traps
Brookside Avenue near Robert Street
This street is used to get from Robert St. near the post office and the Senior Housing down to West Warwick Avenue by Joyal’s Liquors. Limit is 25 but 35 is more realistic. Police sit on the right side and hide behind truck trailers parked in front of the Namco buildings. Summonses are adjudiucated at WW Town Hall all on the same night and since the PD is in the same building you can forget about showing up and hoping the cop doesn’t.

New London Turnpike near Legris Avenue
Police like to park on the side roads off of New London Turnpike (same street as West Warwick High School). They like to catch people going over the posted speed limit of 25. While this is a reasonable speed limit for a residential area, you have to ride your brakes the whole way down the very steep hill and you have to constantly monitor your speed limit. They will stop you for going 4 miles over the posted speed.

Wakefield Street near Providence Street
Police sit in parking lot of Wakefield Street School. The speed limit is 25 normally, 15 during school hours. Many people use this as a cut through between Warwick and West Warwick and as the road is basically straight, people tend to speed.
