Regina, Saskatchewan Speed Traps
Albert St. & 4th Ave.
The police set up in the small parking lot behind Moores and point the radar east down 4th Ave. to catch westbound traffic. People feel like they can go faster then the 50km speed limit because they are traveling beside the cemetery and there are no other businesses or residences on this stretch. You can’t see them until it’s too late. By the way if you see an individual standing a couple hundred yards before the trap who turns around as you go by… they got you for not wearing your seatbelt as well!!! Blah! Almost $400 in fines!!!
Arcola Avenue near Winnipeg Street
Once the snow is gone & the weater is nice, expect this
speed trap to be in effect either Saturday or Sunday mornings from Spring through Fall. The Police hide behind a
Green House on the North side of the road with their RADAR & only focus on the vehicles traveling from Victoria Avenue towards Winnipeg Street. The speed limit on Arcola Avenue NORTH of Victoria Avenue is only 50km/h (way too low) but the speed limit on Arcola Avenue SOUTH of Victoia Avenue is 70km/h. Arcola Avenue runs in a NW/SE angle to the rest of the streets in the City of Regina. I fully expect the speed limit on this stretch of Arcola Avenue to eventually be increaed to 70km/h but until that happens, the local Police can easily fill their quota’s and still stay within three city blocks of the "Robins Donuts" on the corner of Victoria Avenue & Arcola Avenue. The Poice only focus on the traffic traveling NW on Arcola Avenue.
Regina North Avenue near State Highway Provincial Highway 6
Coming off Highway 6 & 11 at 110 kph, speed suddenly drops to 70 kph then immediately to 50 kph. Unmarked units in median or side of road. Sometime K band sometimes Laser on a tripod (summer time mostly for laser)
McCarthy Boulevard near Rink Avenue
Laser Radar is quite frequently set up on the corner of McCarthy Blvd and Rink Ave. Picking up speeders going North on McCarthy Blvd.
Especially those that have just come off of 9th Ave N where the speed limit is 70 KM per Hour and haven’t totally slowed down yet when merging onto McCarthy Blvd.
Pasqua Street near Hallerren or Yarnton Cres.
The Police car sits on Halleren or Yarnton Cres. out of site to the driver coming North on Pasqua St. They are looking for those who don’t slow down after coming off of the Lewvan where the limit is 7o KPH and changes to 50 KPH just before approching Sherwood Drive. The cop is standing on the corner with a Radar gun on a tripod, by the time you see him it is too late to slow down, he has got you ! Could be there any time of day. They get Lots of speeders here, so be careful.
