State Highway 17 S Savahnah Hywy near Lockwood Boulevard
As you cross the Ashley River bridge there is more often than not an Officer in the parking lot on the leFort They tend to hide well off of the roadway behind the bushes just before the entrance to Waffle House. There is often one running radar as well as a pursuit vehicle or two, They also often use motorcycles here.
Ashley Hall Road near Sam Rittenberg Boulevard
Many times a week, mostly in the afternoon, there will be a police car(s) and/or motorcycle cop posted on the side of the road half way between Sam Rittenberg Blvd. and 61 at the small apartment complex across from the church. A few times a year they set up a "safety checkpoint" and stop every car going down that road and ask for your ID and/or proof of insurance.
Lockwood Drive near Broad Street
At the big curve where Lockwood turns into Broad, the speed limit drops from 35 to 25 and they will pull you over in a heartbeat. The cops hide on the grassy area and cannot be seen from around the curve on Lockwood, and are blocked by trees when approaching on Broad.
State Highway 61 near State Highway 61
When you are going on the James Island connector towards Down Towne Charleston, you can veer to the right and get on Highway 61 towards Summerville. This road loops around and goes for about 1/2 mile past two stop lights and then you enter upon a small overpass. Cops always sit at the top of the overpass, A lot of my friends have gotten tickets they don’t give Warnings at All !
US Highway Maybank near Stono River Bridge
Police sit in the center median as the road goes from two lanes each way to four and sits directly in front of the sun around the corner. They like to get people who pop out around traffic going below the speed limit and really hit the accelerator.
