Honea Path, South Carolina Speed Traps

Honea Path, SC Police Department ALWAYS sits in this area and I have gotten stopped and ticketed 1 time! They do NOT charge you with speeding nor take any points but instead, they charge you with a Town Misdemeanor (to gain funds for their town!) The speed limit going into Honea Path goes from 55mph to 45mph to 35mph but in the opposite lane, leaving Honea Path, the speed limit remains at 35MPH for up to 4 miles, even though the lane heading into Honea Path is 55mph! There is ALWAYS a city police officer monitoring speed here and I automatically set my cruise control when I come to this area so I am sure not to speed! This should be ILLEGAL!!

Honea Path police department sits on side of roadway,side roads and business parking lots to clock speeding motorist on Hwy. 252 coming into town from Anderson and on Hwy. 76 coming into town from Princeton Hwy. where the speed limit drops from 45 mph to 35 mph.

All Highways inside the city limits are strickly enforced. At 10 miles above the lights come. They park at the Cementary south of town and the Welcome sign on the North side. Speed limit is 35 for roads you would normally run 45-55.
