Lexington, South Carolina Speed Traps

Several times, I have seen motorcycle officers in the clearing right beside the marsh (right after the quarry on your left). I’ve also seen an Crown Vic or two there.

Usually un-marked dark blue crown victoria or regular black and white cruiser. sits along parking lots around the wal-mart on hwy 378 or safe federal credit union on hwy 1. usually stops for anything 7 mph over posted limits. Iwas stopped once going too a fire call where the speed limit dropped from 45to 35. The ticketing is up too the discretion of the officer.

US 1 and US 378 are being heavily patrolled; especially, on the new four laned portions of both highways. Marked and unmarked cars plus motorcycles and the infamous BMW are on these highways day and night. Leniency is up to the individual patrolman and varies widely (some won’t even give you 5 mph). Don’t bother trying to fight it in court. You’re just wasting your time.
