speed limit is too low and mistakes easy to make
Seaboard Street near Pine Island Road
Although this clearly posted 30mph (by the mall) the Myrtle Beach police are out here all the time. The sit on the side of the road near the mall and get you coming and going. Also be advised North of Pine Island RD to US501 it is a 25mph zone. They like to use the laser in this location….. Be careful.
US Highway 501 near US 17 Bypass
MBPD sits in median near overpass running radar and laser. Mostly at night with lights out so you cant see them.
R M Grissom Parkway near State Route 31
Called International Dr. at exit of Rt 31. Becomes R M Grissom Parkway as it passes over Rte 17 headed toward Myrtle Beach Airport. Big fund raising strip for Horry County via the Myrtle Beach Police Dept. One Sunday no less then one unmarked, and four marked units in action on both sides. From Rt 31 on down. Enough radar to toast a marshmallow. Getting ticketed is the real "Fun In The Sun" here for unsuspecting tourists. The Chamber Of C here just doesn’t get it. This kind of fund raising is a good way to stifle tourism and development.
