Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Speed Traps
State Highway 544 near State Highway 707
Upon entering 544 from 707 one speed limit sign is posted immediatly on the on ramp, but as you are merging one looks to the left so it is obscured from normal vision, the road is 4 lane and straight with a limit of 45, however no other speed markers are in place up to Rte 31 a six lane highway. My out of state plates were not a help, Note the south bound side has speed markers every 1/2 mile, certainly not consistant posting
US Highway 707
Police sit at diffrent places along highway 707 and Holmestown Road. Your never know when or when they will be in the area
Burcale Road near Ryan Lane
Two officers on bikes idle in a spot where they are not visible from traffic going one way. As you drive by they pull you over.
Seaboard Street near US Highway 501
Seaboard St between US-501 and Harrelson Blvd runs behind the brand new Coastal Grande Mall. It’s posted at 30MPH but is 4 lane and straight. WATCH OUT! Enforcement, especially in the early evening hours is heavy with white, unmarked Crown Victoria’s. They cut no slack.
US 17 Bypass near Harrelson Parkway
This area of the bypass from the Myrtle Beach Airport runways till 10th ave north is patroled and greatly enforced by marked patrol cars, unmarked patrol cars, and motorcycles all times of the day and night. It is a 3 lane highway posted at 45 before the runway. They don’t even try to hide. They are out in the open, median, side of road you name it they are there….. Don’t speed through here they will get you..
