Orangeburg, South Carolina Speed Traps
US Highway 301
Starting from Bamberg, SC to the intersection of I-95, this 40 mile stretch of a 4-lane highway is a nest of South Carolina State Troopers. Many of them shoot instant-on radar, so they’re very sneaky. What’s different about this highway than most is it’s a very quiet highway. Doesn’t have a heavy traffic load, so it’s very easy to let your speed get away from you, and as soon as you do that’s when they nail you. Be very careful on this stretch of road.
US Highway 601 near Interstate 26
SC Highway Troopers are anywhere between the Vocational School and I-26, Both directions. Usually they sit in middle of the mergeing lane just below the dips where you will run up on them going too fast. There are three dips. 1. Facing towards Oburg between just in the front of OC-Tech. 2. Facing Towards the interstate, Between the Light @ TRMC and the Bank. 3. Facing towards Oburg in front of the Chrysler Dealership. 4. Facing towards the interstate between Citgo station and the Vocational Center. Typically I see them work the area in pairs. One car near the OC-Tech the other near the Chrysler Dealer. They are there during the day because students going to OC-Tech all day and then when the High School lets out.
Columbia Road
Lots of Highway Patrol cars up and down this road throughout the day. Usually pick up speeders heading toward Columbia after the cemetery.
Hillsboro Road near Riverside Road
When you turn on Hillsboro from Riverside or Especially near Sheridan Elementary, you go down a hill and the cop is usually on the right side of the road with Radar. I have seen them there 75% of time, and No warnings are issued!
