Summerville, South Carolina Speed Traps
Officers wait in every conceivable area behind shrubbery or any area where their vehicle is concealed until it is too late.
City sits in hiding places along the road bewteen Central Ave and 17A.
The police sit with units from Tupperway Dr all the way along 17A to Bristow Dr. enforcing the school zone speed limit.
The 40mph speed limit sign is barely visible as you turn onto Ladson Rd. from Dorchester Rd by the corner of Walgreens (there is not another sign for about a mile). Ladson is a nice wide four lane road here, and it is easy to speed unknowingly. The Summerville police park in the subdivision side streets, and are ticketing speeders constantly. The speed does not change to 45 mph until after the bridge by Old Fort Fire Dept. Slow down and drive careful.
There is a new stop sign in this development. Make sure you come to a COMPLETE stop. Many residents have gotten ticketed for coming to a "rolling stop" when there has been no traffic.
