Perryton TX is a town of 8000 people, but when we drove through, twice, on our way south and then back north to Kansas, we saw 4 cops each time. We were going 2 mph over the speed limit and not wearing our seatbelts (it just became a law in our state and we are not quite in the habit yet). We were stopped by the cop and ticketed for not wearing our seatbelts and charged $125. In Kansas it is $10 (because it is a new law) and in other states, around $50. It seems cops are trolling the 1-83 area and ticketing as much and any time they can and making money off people traveling through. If you are in this area, follow the law to the letter or you can guarantee you will be stopped and you will be fined to the max.
