Big Sandy is a typical “wide spot in the road”. The main street is also the highway, so the speed limit drops from 79 MPH to 35 MPH within few hundred feet. Montana Highway Patrol or local sheriff (the town is too small for a police force) usually parks near the grain elevators next to the highway.
