18 mile Strech (US1 between Florida City and Key Largo)
FDOT has hired 2 extra FHP Patrol units (Marked and Unmrked) to strictly enforce the 45mph construction work zone speed limit. Units easily target traffic while blending in with construction equipment and barricades, tickets are TWICE the amount when workers are present.

Northbound when exiting Key Largo there is usually one marked FHP unit with a radar gun attached to a tripod, the second unit is usually driving with traffic or sitting in the southbound lane before you get to the bridge to Key Largo, your safest route is Card Sound Road, I have yet to encounter any law enforcement on this road, and traffic is minimal!
