222 North, Mohnton On Ramp

Reading, PennsylvaniaApr 28, 20101 Comments

Mohnton Exit On Ramp going 222 North, cops sit there so often there are ruts in the grass. Local cops, timing lines painted on the road right after going under the exit bridge. Speed limit 55, they don’t normally stop for 65, but they will for 70 and above…

Comments:
As soon as the new section of 222 opened this road became killing fields for the local cops. They troll this road from Mohnton to Sinking Spring and to 422/222 split. Trooper sits in a marked unit on both Gouglersville exit overpass and on Sinking Spring onramp to 222 on the shoulder as well. The truck with a cap has not been around lately, but I have seen a grey Chevy Express cargo van with three black antennae parked on the infamous overpasses and what looks like half a chopper blade rotating on the roof. This is the spotter/radar vehicle who then sends down a trooper or locals to grab you further down. No time to react and you must look at all overpasses and look above and behind you especially at the Mohnton exit for Cumru going south for and Sinking Spring for Spring sitting on the very top of the shoulder to the onramp timing you. Always assume they are there, most of the time they are. All grass sections of the exits are completely torn up, rutted, muddy and covered in tire tracks from how often the cops are there. You can physically see the tracks in the grass and the dirt where it's all blown out from their tires. It's rare that they aren't, they seem to concentrate a lot of effort from the exits in the southbound side headed toward Lancaster county. Not as heavy north at times, but they will blitz both sides both state and locals will tag team and sometimes each will work alone but either way they come out with the hammer down and in force. Bad section to speed on from Adamstown exit north all the way through up into Kutztown, and 422 as well they are out in force too with Wyomissing and troopers too sometimes. Watch your speed, and have somebody watch your wallet or you may lose it and your license in one expensive ticket special.
