I received a violation for a school zone. No flashing light indicating that it is a school zone and the speed limit should be 20 mph.

Comments:
Yeah I just received my ticket in the mail. I just left the four way stop heading eastbound and right after the tree had past I noticed a flash. I looked around I didn't see any flashing school zone lights and I didn't see any speed limit signs posted between the four way stop and the camera. I've never had a speeding ticket. Sucks! 20 years ticket free.32mph in a 20mph zone.

Yes. The children should be safe, but this is not about the children. It is about city revenue. Revenue first, children second. Citizens of Sheridan see what your city is doing for your children. This speed trap is at the corner of a park that is a block a way from the school that cannot be seen from Quincy. The 20mph sign is within 50-100 feet from a 30mph sign. The sign says the 20mph speed limit is between 7-9 and 2-4. The park has a fence along Quincy that contains the children within the park. There is no street side sidewalk. They recently have laid an asphalt strip here for the monitoring van after the grass was damaged where the police park. The driver has to be aware of the time going through here. What is interesting is the west bound traffic always has a posted 25mph speed limit whereas the east bound traffic has the 30mph and 20mph limits. If the city of Sheridan truly wants to protect your children, they would install a sign with a flashing light as other school zones have. Revenue first, children second. Citizens demand your city leadership put a sign with the flashing amber light placed to give drivers a chance to reduce speed and not hidden by trees instead of spending money on asphalt strips; or elect those that care first about the children. Since capital has already been spent on the asphalt strip, they could even use their cherished monitoring van to ticket those that ignore the light.
