74th St W & Orchard St
10/7/08 – The usual speed limit through here is 35 MPH but it quickly changes to 25 MPH during school hours and they mean business. I drove through here 2 times on my deliveries between the hours of 1:45pm to 2:15pm and I counted 7 police vehicles in this school zone that runs down 74th St W. 1 on Orchard Street 1 at the entrance to the school; 1 tucked in the SW corner of the school parking lot; 1 tucked in on Mullen Street and 1 sitting in the parking lot that runs parallel to Mullen Street; 1 on S Verde St; 1 on S Mason Ave

This may be a speed trap, but it is in the city of Tacoma, not Lakewood. The school zones are clearly marked in this location and I find that most people simply ignore the traffic controls signs or do not know what they mean. I really do not think this is qualifies as a speed trap because of the clear marking of the speed limit and the fact that the school is in plain sight. Pat attention to the traffic control signs and drivers will have less problems
