"The state is hurting for money"???? Here's an idea... don't break the law and they they wont get any of yours... maybe, just maybe, they are out there in force hoping that it will entice people to stop driving like idiots so that fewer people will be killed on our roadways.

If it's "all about safety" officer, then give out warnings for minor speed violations and dont use traps............ what's that? You wouldnt reach your quota or "standard" if you just gave out warnings. since its NOT about the revenue try just giving out warnings instead of tickets for a month and see if you still have a job. Quit the lying about the safety thing, the public would respect you and your profession so much more if you folks were honest with the public and admitted IT IS all about the $$$$.

Saw this trap in action last week. Whomever is saying this isnt a trap is flat out lying and probably the revenue collections officer that is finding quota filler at this location.

I 100% agree with the #2 comment. These are not safety speed traps. If they were you wouldn't hide behind trees and post reduclas speed limits that in certain areas that make no sense. I agree I need to be responsible with my speed but this is rediculas. Go down south and do some real policework. Catch some robbers, drug dealers, etc and REALY protect eh public the way the job is intended.

Catching the "real criminals" doesn't pay as well as harassing citizens with their gotcha 2-10mph over the speed limit tickets, where the limits are set artificially low. The real thieves are the ones with the radar guns, and the local politicians that are living high off that cash cow.
