95 South coming into Bonners Ferry

Bonners Ferry, IdahoJul 13, 20102 Comments

Very steep hill coming into Bonners Ferry and unless you ride your brakes all the way down you will exceed the 35mph limit. Road is six lanes with center divider and drops from 65 to 35 very fast. City police seem to only ticket out of state plates.

Comments:
The area your talking about has a truck slow down gravel pit at the bottom. During the winter this area is very dangerous. Many trucks can't make it up the hill and cars and trucks have trouble coming down a very short steep grade into a curve. If they didn't force this slowdown area, there would be many more wrecks at the bottom leading to the bridge. The answer would be to change the speed limit from the three mile light to 45mph and 35 mph at the top of the hill. Then people would have something else to complain about, but it would be safer.

The speed limit drops from 45 to 35 halfway down the hill. The police officer sits right where the speed limit drops, and he will radar you from behind as you're slowing down. There are no warnings given, and they will write you for the full speed. These people should be given no quarter
