A1A just past Patrick AFB, when the road splits heading N

Cocoa Beach, FloridaFeb 03, 20111 Comments

Heading north coming from Patrick AFB just past PAFB the road will split. The speed limit drops down to 35mph. Only one sign and very easy to miss. A motor cycle cop will be on the left (not in view). This speed trap has been in place since as long as I can remember going back to early 70’s. I went to visit and I forgot about that trap and sure enough I got a ticket. Do not even go 5 over the speed limit in this area!

Comments:
Definite speed trap along A1A past the Air Force Base. Speeds drops quickly from 55mph to 45mph and then to a 35mph sign which is partially blocked by a tree branch. In my case officer was hidden to the right side and when I pulled over he said I was at 50mph in the 35mph zone. I was on my way to breakfast on a Sunday morning. I do not live in Cocoa Beach. I am from Puerto Rico. I stayed in a Melbourne hotel, I ate in Cocoa Beach and Melbourne restaurants. I only want to state that if anyone is caught speeding, it should not be because the sign is partially blocked by tree branches. That is totally unfair.
