Adams Avenue near Santa Ana River

Costa Mesa, CaliforniaFeb 24, 20082 Comments

Since a speeding fatality on Adams Avenue occurred in late 2007, the speed limit along this major arterial has been reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph and there are additional signs posted as well as markers on the pavement. Enforcement has been stepped up as well. Drivers usually travel about 50-60 mph between the Santa Ana River (at the Huntington Beach city limit line) to Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa.

Comments:
This is a confirmed a speed trap. Motorcycle police hide in the surface road entrances to the Santa Ana River Channel and trap cars going up and down Adams.

Why can anyone think of this area as a speed trap. They have flashing signs that say slow down if you are going to fast. They also post your speed and let you know what the speed limit is. They need to give more tickets in this area.
