Alexander Road near Faculty Road
At about 1:30 AM one night in May 2006 I encountered a police cruiser standing with its lights off next to the pump at Larini’s, the gas station at the intersection of Faculty and Alexander, which closes long before that. I should concede that because the officer pulled me over to warn me that my license-plate lights were burnt out (I happened not to be speeding for once), I can’t be certain it was a trap. But it seems likely, for traffic enforcement is pretty vigorous in Princeton, and in Larini’s a darkened cruiser is easily overlooked, yet has an excellent view of an intersection and a long straightaway, offering good chances to enforce the speeding and red-light laws. Prime real estate for a traffic cop, if you ask me.
