The deputies and highway patrol officers here are bored and the county and state are broke…therefore, there are a lot of traffic tickets written here. Like 5 mph over the speed limit or going 5 mph under the speed limit??? In some other states, speeding is defined in the vehicle code as “an unsafe speed for conditions”, like heavy traffic, wet roads, fog, rain, etc…none of which are common in Pahrump. Watch your speed, stay off the phone (even visor phones ), and you should be okay here. By the way, ticket fines are very expensive and bench warrants issued for no – shows is around $1500 per ticket ( not per violation if there is more than one on a ticket…eg. Speeding / No Seatbelt )
