Allen Road

At the corner of Allen Rd. and Goddard, where the cities of Allen Park, Taylor and Southgate meet, you will see police cars parked in the grocery store parking lot facing the intersection. The reason that they park facing the intersection is so that their camera records everything and you do not stand a chance in court. They are watching the cars that are making a left hand turn from southbound Allen Rd. onto eastbound Goddard Rd. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE LEFT TURN LIGHT IF IT IS YELLOW OR RED – period. The traffic at that light is usually so backed up that when the left arrow turns red, at least 3 more cars will go through the light. The last car through will get pulled over and given a ticket. There are no warnings being given and the ticket is somewhere around $125.

Comments:
No one should pass a yellow or red traffic light in MI as this state passed a dumb law 30 years ago making it illegal to "enter an intersection when the traffic light is yellow". Legislators need to be inundated with constituent's request to remove this dangerous and improper law. Otherwise millions more MI residents will be abused by this flagrantly wrong law. It's also worth noting that now with the road construction on Allen Rd. just north of Goddard Rd. south to Northline Rd. Taylor police are issuing speeding tickets in this Allen Rd. construction area where the speed limit has been reduced to 30 and 35 mph from 40 and 45 mph depending how close you are to Goddard Rd. They are using two new unmarked Dodge Charger police cars - one bright red and the other dark gray - which are also being used at the Telegraph and Ecorse Rd. overpass speed trap.
