They sit off the road within the entrance to the park. They also sit further down the road where the city limits were recently extended and the speed limit dropped to 25 mph. It’s interesting that the other half of the road is in the jurisdiction of Lake Winnebago, and the speed limit is the original 35 mph.

Comments:
Allendale Lake Rd. that leads from the Greenwood City Limits and towards Lake Winnebago. The Lake Winnebago area is rural along with being sparsely populated which is the reason for the 35 mile per hour speed limit. Allendale Lake Rd. that leads from Lake Winnebago into Greenwood. A few thousand people live along this street in Greenwood that is a hilly two lane double yellow lined street. It has a sidewalk on one side of the street and crosswalks that go across said street which and numerous children other pedestrians use to go to and from their homes and to the park which is by Park Dr. and Allendale Lake Rd. and the school which is located at Main St. and Allendale Lake Rd. From the city limits sign where there is a 25 mile per hour sign to the city park is 1 1/2 miles. There are three additional 25 mile per hour signs posted along the street before getting to the park along with caution chidren playing signs. Officers sit at the city parks because citizens have complained about speeders almost hitting them and their children when crossing the street at the crosswalks. Again, do your research about why the speed limit is posted at 25 miles per hour and be observant of the 3+ 25 mile per hour signs that you went past before reaching the park. Do the speed limit on this street for the safety of the adult pedestrians and their children.
