Observation: A great rule of thumb in Hampton for me in the last five years of residency is that the police will use public schools for speed traps. During arrival hours, police normally are poised near the entrance or exits of the school. At dismissal, they police set at the end of a school driveway next to the first school bus in lineup or the last school bus in lineup. All of us should be cognizant of school zones in general and Hampton Police seemingly use them a lot to conduct speed enforcement.
