Anywhere in the Woodworth town limits!

Woodworth, LouisianaDec 26, 20102 Comments

Of course, who knows where the town limits are from day to day!!! Rule of thumb: always drive at least 5 miles under the posted speed limit in Woodworth! This might not keep you from getting a ticket, but at least it will give you an argument! Several years ago after discovering that 87% of the town’s revenue was derived from traffic violations, the State of Louisiana threatened to pass legislation capping that amount at 35%. After promises of using "more discretion", the legislation was stopped and Woodworth was off the hook! I wonder what that percentage is now! Good luck finding that information!!!

This whole town is a speedtrap, no more like a police state municipality. They can and will write you a ticket for anything and everything that is on their books, even laws dating back to the horse and buggy days that are no longer applicable in todays society. There is absolutely no mercy from the officers, the city clerk, or the mayor of this town. He is a "Boss Hog" that believes he is the supreme being and the only perfect one in this town. Also, they are more apt to write violations to people that are not "one of them" or are not a citizen of Woodworth than they are to write a citizen of Woodworth. So if you go through Woodworth, please make sure that you slam on your brakes as soon as you see the speed limit signs, have your seat belts strapped on so tight that you cannot move, have your car in perfect mechanical condition, stop at all signs, and have all of your paperwork updated and in an easy accessible place; the officer cannot be kept waiting while you look for you paperwork, or you will be invited to contribute to the new multi-million dollar town hall that is being built. Be careful, they are only doing this for your safety.

Woodworth has been a speedtrap fpr over 50 years. Exspecially at the Indian Creek entrance road where it,s only 25mph. Best thing is to do atleast 5mph below posted speed limits and slow down way befor signs. and when speed goes back up go atleast 100 yards past sign before speeding up.
