SB 44th ave w @186th st sw. posted 20 mph, no children is site, well after 4:00 pm. camera only!

Comments:
The speed trap is also northbound on 44th Ave., West between 188th St., West and 186th St, West, approaching Lynnwood Elementary School. I got a $124 speeding ticket going 29 miles per hour at 2:40 p.m. on a Wednesday. Beware!

I got a ticket there (no children present) as did a friend. We both avoid going there now for shopping, library etc. There are oher shopping areas in his area. Have lived in South Couuny since 44h was a 2 lane dirt road when I (now 79) was in grade school.. Sad.

Sign is misleading. You think it says 20mph if children present since it is in school zone, but a sign in smaller print has been posted over it that says when crosswalk lights are blinking. Has nothing to do with any pedestrians even being in sight. I got a ticket for going 30 at 8:00 am on a Saturday. There were no children, no pedestrians, not a single person in sight. I personally know 5 others who have gotten tickets in this same spot, different days and times. If no pedestrians are in sight, why are the crosswalk lights flashing? I no longer do any business in Lynnwood.

Shocker, Revenue Collection Ofiicers abusing school zones to collect revenue during non school hours. Color me shocked!!!! (NOT!)

I echo the comment from Mar 13th, above. I have been a commercial driver for over 41 years, and cannot remember my last traffic ticket. I've had them in the past, but my motives for safe driving habits are self evident. The photo enforced intersections and school zones are very obviously a revenue based program loosely veiled as "safety" enforcement! Some municipalities, such as Mukilteo have allowed the citizenship to speak their mind on this issue, and thus did not install them. I vote with my pocket book! Lynnwood businesses, sadly, don't get any of my money.

I agree with all ofthe above, I contested my ticket that was for 24 miles over the 20 MPH school zone . Court clerk dropped it to 50 dollars. It isstill a rip off. My family and Istay out oflynnwood asmuch aswe can. Oh the ticket I got was the only one I have ever received in the 35 years I have lived in the area

Ok, this is absolutely, heinously ridiculous! I get a call from my mom today about a $124 dollar ticket that occurred 2 weeks ago on 44th, because of some school zone crap? There were NO kids in sight, it was at 4:14 P.M. (apparently, 16 minutes shy of the "4:30 mark"), and MOST importantly, the sign indicating the school zone speed and all details thereto was VERY, VERY unclear. The speed trap/school zone in Meadowdale has never been an issue for me, because of the number of cars going slow there, its pretty obvious that it is a school zone. NOT so on 44th! Lynnwood City Hall, make your signs CLEAR and make more than 1 of them, FAR in advance of the school zone!!! Also, most importantly, do you REALLY need to extend the hours of the reduced speed zone to 4:30 P.M.???

I can tell you this is a speed trap. I just received a ticket for 32/20 zone. No kids, no flashing light, no school that day. LOL, those pesky kids hiding in their homes. I have no choice but to pay it, but that is it for me traveling through Lynnwood now.
