BEWARE…. Swansea Police regularly park along Big Bend- where it clearly marked, no parking on either side (unless you are a bully Swansea Police Officer) and look for ANYTHING they can to pull you over- talking on cell phone close to school, not using turn signal, seatbelt- etc. They harass anyone in the wider community that they can- all in the name of writing tickets = $$$ revenue for the Swansea, IL Police. They also lurk along 159 close to Schnucks- beware- the Swansea police drive like maniacs along Big Bend when children are walking home from school- one in particular that we call Lurch Jr- he looks like Lurch from the Addams Family- just alot shorter- he drives above the speed limit- frequently does u-turns- parks in no parking areas- all to lurk to write tickets. If you needed help- wouldn’t help you- only interested in writing tickets. Beware anytime you drive around the Wolf Branch Schools- They lurk over by the Fire Dept and around the entire area.

I would think a police officer in and around our public schools is a good thing?!?!?!?!?! Now if a kid were to get hit in and around that area im sure you would say the Swansea police aren't in the area enough. You are one of those anti police idiots that is just never happy. Not only that, your post doesn't inform the public about "traps." The police park on the corner of big bend only when school is about to get out of session to prevent people from running the stop sign and hitting a student. At least they are trying to prevent someone from getting hurt. I know this because i asked one of the police officers in the area. What do you do? How bout you grow a pair and get a life you idiot.

I have always maintained that if you obey the traffic laws of the area-- no speeding, wearing a seatbelt, STOPPING at stops signs (which i rarely see in this neighborhood)-- you don't have to worry where the police are sitting!

I live in this neighborhood, and I think the focus should be shifted towards the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. speeders. The police should definitely be all over this neighborhood. I have been to many neighborhoods in my day, and this neighborhood has the worst drivers in the universe. Even the UPS guys blow stop signs. Something about this neighborhood makes people 100% retarded behind the wheel. If i have one more punk in a honda civic fly by my children going 80 mph I am going to become Wolf Branch Neighborhood Justice Man.
