At the Washington Exit… south bound
I was going 81 in a 75… while passing an 18 wheeler. So, technically speeding, "yes". However, lots of folks with Louisiana tags were passing me and the guy with the Texas plates gets the ticket. This makes me not want to spend any money in their state and my wife and I travel to NO every year for our anniversary. Come on Washington, find a better way to raise revenue. At least give a little leeway.

I too received my ticket for 81 in a 75. I was in the slower lane being passed by other vehicles in the passing lane and I received the ticket. My rental car had Illinois plates. What real police would do that?
I too travel to the area. I come every quarter from Ohio. It appears Washington has been doing this for a long time and won't change its ways. So, I'm writing a letter to the head of the Chamber of Commerce in Lafayette, LA, where I usually stay, and will cc its mayor. Maybe Washington's big brother will get involved.
I will no long stay in Lafayette's hotels, eat in its restaurants for lunch and dinner, fill up my gas tank, nor shop in its stores. Every quarter I spend about $1,500 on this trip. I'll make sure either Alexandria or Baton Rouge get my company's dollars from now on.
