Atlantic Beach Boulevard

Atlantic Beach, North CarolinaJul 26, 20072 Comments

Going over the bridge toward Atlantic Beach, NC from the main land. The posted signs say 55 mph and suddenly changes without notice to 35 mph and the radar usually stops anyone with out of state plates 1st. It is a highway bridge and I was clocked doing 48 mph and a moped was next to me! What are the chances of that? Cataret Co. makes more revenue from this speed trap than anywhere I can think of.

Comments:
The speed limit on the bridge is 45mph and is clearly marked and in the transition to 35 it is clearly marked. Lots of the time there is a speed measuring device on the shoulder telling you how fast you're going before you get to the 35. You are oviously knowledgeable of the revenue that Carteret county makes on this "Speed Trap" but you don't know the speed limit. Think about it.....

it is funny that for 4 miles before the bridge it's 35 mph, then all of the sudden it's 45 mph. then as soon as you get to the bottom of the bridge, it's 35 again. i guess it's for the incline? but it seems like a trap to me.
