Starting about 15 minutes before the school limit lights start flashing, a radar equipped Portland Police vehicle will start to enforce the 15 mph limit. Such may continue 15 or so minutes after the school limit flashing lights are turned off. Normally the street has a 35 mph limit. There are crossing guards during school hours, ie. while the school zone lights are flashing and thus no risk for school children.
