Avenida Pico between Calle Amanecer & Del Cerro
A motorcycle unit frequently parks in a grove of trees on the right side of Ave Pico with a radar gun to catch drivers who exceed the posted 45 mph speed limit for that area. This stretch of Pico is in an unpopulated area and is heading downhill toward San Clemente High School where the speed limit drops to 35 MPH (25 when children are present). It is very easy to inadvertently reach speeds of 50 – 55 while traveling down that hill toward the high school.
