Barclay Street near State Highway 20-22

Sisters, OregonApr 29, 20051 Comments

Barclay is the first left turn as you arrive at the west end of Sisters. It is a street through the industrial area and has a 25 limit reduced to 20 at the first intersection. As you are coming from a 55 zone, it is very easy to drive faster and it goese right past the State Police office. Drive faster at your own peril!

Comments:
I lived in Sisters for 15 years and traveled Barclay 100's of times. It is a speed trap for tourists as it curves in about the center between the two connecting roads, HW 20/26 and Camp Polk road and you can't see the cop car in either direction, usually parked facing south on private property driveway on weekends especially. It is a 25 speed limit for a mile from HW 20 to Pine Street and then 20 MPH on to Camp Polk. I have seen numerous people getting tickets, especially in the summer months, so beware. Drive the speed limit in Sisters, regardless of where you are at it is 20 MPH and they will ticket you if you drive more than about 10 miles over this limit, sometimes even less. I got stopped for driving about 30, but talked my way out of it as I knew the cop. Be careful in Sisters.
