Beaver Meadows

The Beaver Meadow Police heavily patrol this area. What people also need to know is that they contact ICE about people they stop whom they think are not in the U.S. legally. ICE recently told the Dept. that they must transport the detaineees to a prison in Scranton – not to those in Carbon or Northampton Counties – and the chief says they will. Don’t speed & bring your U.S. passport, birth certificate or immigration papers in case your tail light’s out.

No this is not a speed trap. It is a police officer enforcing the laws to all. I don't know why people think that the rules and laws of this country are "only for other people" NOT THEM. Just like the former cop who wants to speed and when he gets caught just flashes his badge and expects to get away with it. He must have been a great cop when he was working, if he did work. This country is in the mess it is partly because of people who just want to do what they want and not be bothered by obeying the laws. If there are speed traps it is to stop SPEEDERS. DUH.

I tend to disagree. I think it is a struggling borough trying to pay their bills with speeding tickets. The reality is, the timing lines as currently placed on the road, are at what appears to be the borough line. (Northbound 93) The speed limit sign is right there. I know the vehicle code prohibits the timing of vehicles until after 500 feet from the speeding sign. Request a hearing and present this as evidence and you'll win your case. Oh, and the cop hides in a forested parking lot, out of view! And if you get charged with anything remember, the stop itself is illegal!! Town should clean up its act and treat people fairly and stop trying to pay off the borough bills on the backs of motorists going 10 MPH over the speed limit. Disgraceful!!!

How 'bout this, if you're an illegal alein, GTF out of the country, or become a citizen. You don't belong here to begin with.

I agree 100%, the borough of Beaver Meadows is using passing motorists as an income stream, and their police force as revenue collection agents, to get money for their own salaries, pensions, and benefits. This is grossly unfair and evil because I pay taxes IN MY OWN TOWNSHIP. I shouldn't also have to pay in Beaver Meadows. It's a tyrannical system and needs to be abolished. Any cop worth his oath, would refuse to even write a fine for 65 mph or under. Did you ever actually try to drive 35 mph ? It's like watching paint dry, and people pile up behind you and start laying on the horn. Going that slow is more of a traffic hazard, than speeding is. The police are preying upon the very people, they have sworn to protect- this system has become an American version of socialist communist fascist Nazi state, and these police officers "go right along" with the sytem, to get a paycheck. Yet they get all their friends and relatives "off the hook" and get their fines squashed for them. The only people who pay fines are those who don't know anyone in the township or borough. May St. Michael the Archangel intercede to let the policeman of Beaver Meadows know what he is doing wrong. He needs to wake up and stop fining honest American citizens, and taking food off their table, to pay his own salary. This is patently evil.
