Beck Road Just south of North Territorial

Plymouth, MichiganJan 16, 20031 Comments

Police will sit on a side street on either the East or West side of Beck Road. They are in either a fully marked patrol car or an unmarked white crown victoria. They use laser and radar. The speed limit is 40 MPH and they are known to stop for as little as 10-12 over. They justify this abuse of power by claiming that the street is lined with houses. Also, where they sit is just over the crest of a hill for northbound traffic. by the time you see them, they have got you. From what i’ve heard, they rarely give breaks. This spot is primarily worked by the local cops.

Comments:
Yes, I just got a ticket in this location. The speed limit is 40 mph, increasing to 45 just through the intersection at N. Territorial Rd at the M-14 intersection. Radar says I was clocked at 56, I swear my speed was lower than that when I checked my spedometer when spotting the patrol car. I missed the speed limit signs, posted along the dark stretch of the road while trying to keep my eye on the road. This will be points and increased insurance unless I get lucky when I appear before the magistrate.
