Beckwith Road near Lehigh Station Road

Henrietta, New YorkFeb 15, 20061 Comments

Monroe Co. Sheriff’s Dept. is usually parked in a church parking lot on west side of the road, halfway between Lehigh Station and Baily Rd’s. Speed limit is 35 and really should be at least 40 for that area. This is basically a no-accident zone and deputies are taking advantage of that unually low speed limit. Radar in that area just gives the Deputies a bad image. Enforcement could be better served on adjacent John St. or W. Henrietta Rd. where there is 3-12 times the amount of traffic (and accidents)!

Comments:
This comment is totally wrong. The posted speed is 30,and for a good reason.Beckwith Rd is used as a shortcut to get to Rt 390.The speed limit was lowered because of drivers using this residential road as a way to avoid W.Henrietta Rd. and the traffic lights there. The deputies are just doing the job that the town asks them to do,and that is to keep this road safe before it becomes a high accident area.
