Between Manitowish and Mercer on HWY 51

This stretch is pretty desolate, but usually see a state or county car along here. November 2010, I got pulled over for going 59. I got a warning and also a warning because I had a headlight out. The cruise control was set below 60 and I saw the state trooper when I went by him. About 2 miles down the road I saw the lights in my rearview mirror. My dad and I were laughing about it when I pulled over. We were polite and gave the officer all the information that he requested, including my insurance card. After getting the warning, I pulled back onto HWY 51 North and set the cruise at 55 and he followed me about 5 miles to Mercer. I pulled into a gas station to let him get past me. We figured he would be sitting up the road a little ways, but we didn’t see him if he was.

Besides speeders......law enforcement are looking for drunk drivers. And, there are a fair amount of them going from bar to bar up there. Deer and other wildlife are abundant for collisions. So, the light out was more likely the reason for pulling you over, and being 4 above was just a good place to remind one to slow down. Don't do the crime (speeding) if you don't want the price of a ticket. Slow down and live. And maintain your vehicle, of course so others can see you.

Driven through that area many times at 59mph past State Troopers and County Mounties alike. Never had any issue. Have to concur with the other commentor with your headlight being out, that's most likely the reason you were pulled over.
