Beville Middle School zone, Dale Boulevard
Cops will wait in large groups (I counted three cruisers and two motorcycles) on Dale Boulevard near Beville Middle School at the end of the school day. There is inadequate warning for the zone; no road markings, no “reduced speed ahead” or “school zone” signs, just two tiny flashing signs which are easily missed.
Normal speed limit is 45 mph, I was moving 40 and me and my father had no idea we were entering a school zone. The cop pointed the school warning signs out when I got a ticket and they’re barely noticeable. Immediately after the ticket two other motorists were pulled over.
Now I’ve been driving for eight years and for many thousands of miles. I’ve *never* seen any school zone with so little forewarning like this one. It’s an obvious speed trap, especially considering Prince William County’s dire financial problems. They need to raise money by any method they can, it seems.
