Bingaman Street near Bingaman Street Bridge

Reading, PennsylvaniaApr 23, 20061 Comments

Reading City Police regularly obtain the cooperation of a PA State Trooper to use State Police Radar, not authorized for use by the Reading City Police, to obtain the speed of vehicles crossing the Bingaman Street Bridge, which is posted at 25 mph. The Reading City Police then issue a citation on "information received". The PA State Trooper is listed on the citation as the witness and does appear in Court to testify. The PA State Trooper has no interest in the citation as it is a Reading City Police Citation.

Comments:
Reading is broke and dying a slow painful death. Every year it gets worse and the city gets more desperate to stay alive, tickets have always been the city's forte and now they need any revenue they can get ill gotten or otherwise. The city used to be an amazing place full of shops, movie theaters, it used to be really nice and now it's a shell of itself. It's nothing but bombed out block after block of rotting warehouses and condemned houses, it's really sad to see how bad it's gotten.
