Blackies Pasture Road near Tiburon Boulevard

Tiburon, CaliforniaFeb 24, 20071 Comments

The Tiburon PD often sit on Blackies Pasture Road to watch for cars speeding in both directions on Tiburon Blvd. Most of the time they do not use any type of radar or laser, and bushes conceal them until it is too late.

Comments:
This is definitely not a speed trap. Check the definition of a speed trap. Blackies Pasture Rd at Tiburon Blvd. is an intersection that is visible from each direction on Tiburon Blvd. for several hundred yards. A marked patrol car (the only type of police car that is authorized to work traffic) will sit on Blackies Pasture Rd. in plain view of all motorists...there are no bushes at the intersection or even near it. Speed is not the only infraction that is enforcable from this location, but when it is enforced, radar is used 99% of the time. Other violations enforced include passing in a no passing zone, and failing to turn in a left turn lane. Those people who call this a speed trap generally are those who can not accept the fact that they were caught and properly cited.
