This straight stretch of Bluebird Lane is a rural road within the city limits of Midland with very little traffic the majority of the time. There is the city water plant and baseball park on one side of the road and a few widely spaced rural residences along the other. This is the type of road that is usually signed 45-50mph, but has a 35mph speed limit that is strictly enforced. Officers sometimes hide in the city park entrances or on the parking lot of a church. They also use radar to monitor the speed of vehicles approaching them.
