Both north & south of town on Highway 151

Dickeyville, WisconsinJul 14, 20031 Comments

The city police sit just inside both city limits with the radar gun. We got stopped on the south side of town where Hwy. 151 goes from 4 lanes & a speed limit of 65 to 2 lanes & a speed limit of 45 within 100 yds.! Then goes to 30 mph. in another 100 yds. We figure they must have a new police chief who is gung-ho about collecting fines! If they catch 20 speeders in one day Lancaster County will be one mighty rich county!!!

Comments:
Since 2003, this highway has changed. There is now a ramp to get off Interstate (151) and onto 35/61/Cty H which goes west into Dickeyville. The sheriff and state patrol will watch sit on the ramps and watch for speeders. Coming North...once you get past the town of Kieler, you should begin to watch out. They can see you coming from about 4 miles away from where they sit. Coming South out of Platteville on 151, pay attention once you start coming up the huge hill just out of Dickeyville. You'll be going right through some man-made cliffs from when they cut out the hill to make the highway. They'll be waiting at the top in the medians and ramps. Dickeyville itself has one cop on duty who likes to sit on the edge of town near the water tower on the south, and near the lumberyard on the North...as you come into town from Potosi/Tennyson.
