Bruno Avenue near Hanley Road

Maplewood, MissouriMay 25, 20071 Comments

If you go through the subdivision behind the new Walmart complex on Hanley, look out. Bruno Ave. goes down a small hill to a stop sign, but the speed limit for the entire area Maplewood portion is 20 MPH. I left my car in 2nd gear and just coasted down the hill while flipping the radio and still apparently ended up at 32 MPH, since I figured the limit was 30. The cop is right out in the open on a side street. When I told him I was "only" going 30 (without him telling me) and he said, "The limit’s 20" my shocked look got me just a warning. I guess they lowered the limit because of Walmart traffic trying to sneak over to Big Bend?

Comments:
The speed limit on West Bruno Avenue has been 20 mph for over 20 years. It is posted near the Wal Mart and at the stop signs going East.
