Cane Island Parkway North of I-10

Katy, TexasSep 06, 20180 Comments

There is a short stretch between hwy 90 and the north end (termination) of Cane Island Parkway where the speed limit is a slow unnecessary 30mph (non residential road). There are no private driveways and separate pedestrian walks far from road separated by trees and bushes. There is very little pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks (approx 10 per day). 3 – 4 police officers hide and issue tickets on this road daily. It is the source of many social media threads. According to rumors, someone in the upper income ($500-$1.5) neighborhood decided everyone else was driving too fast and petitioned for the limit to be lowered. It is a constant hassle for any guests into the neighborhood who would never expect such slow speeds on a non-residential parkway. A majority of the community is upset about it but no one knows how to change it.
