Carlsbad Caverns Visitor Center
A well organized speed trap is on the entry road into the National park. As you near the Visitor’s center at the top of the mesa the speed drops from 40 to 25. Within a hundred yards after passing the change in speed there is a park ranger with a radar gun. While we were having lunch we watch the rangers pulling over a number of visitors. None looked like the speeding types. They were unsuspecting visitors just come for a pleasant day of cave exploring. The ranger was very arrogant and unfriendly, treating us like we were criminals. They issue an expensive ticket ($95) knowing full well that no one will return to contest it.
