Carlton Avenue between Rutgers Road and Washington Avenue
After passing the entrance to Pleasantview Gardens on the left, WATCH OUT. Between that intersection and the next light, Washington Avenue, the police park their cars two blocks away on a side street, then walk over and hide behind trees and utility poles with radar guns. If you’re going more than say 30, you won’t see them until it’s too late. The limit is 25MPH and it’s enforced strictly, and there’s no getting out of a ticket here. Apparently some residents in the neighborhood complained about speeding cars on that stretch, and so the police always enforce it more when they get a complaint.
