Carterville Road near Old gas station
From Carterville Baptist Church and Watts Road beside it until Adams Nursery…make sure you’re actually going 35 mph! They like to sit and wait in the driveway of an old abandoned gas station with their radar going. On any given day, I’ve seen 3 different people pulled over, one at a time, in that short stretch of road.

The old gas station is gone now. They have moved across the street and wait behind a grown up fence row near the storage units that have been built. If they are not at that location they will be in the carterville church parking lot near the wood line. Also, watch out at the end of carterville road where it runs into sunrise road. Sunrise road is 45 mph and drops down to 35 mph at the city limits. You better be on your breaks at that point. Just because you see a police at one trap does not mean there is not one at the next trap.
Amen on the section of Carterville RD. right at the city limits & the Sunrise community. I'll never understand why they feel the need to run radar just as you cross into the city limits. Considering that there are not a lot of people living in that immediate area you have to assume that they are not protecting the public but are just out to make money at this particula location.
