Center of town
75 MPH from Texas, 65 MPH in NM, drops to 55 MPH outside of town, then 45 and almost immediately to 30 MPH for less than 100 yards. One restaurant, small couple pump gas station only businesses. 70+ miles to Roswell where the city is full of businesses and speed is generally 45 MPH. Tatum has at least 3 police officers and vehicles and dispatcher, for a town of EIGHT hundred 52 people!!! It appears they pull out of state people because they are less likely to return and sue the town. Typical speed trap. I have been through it 4 times in one month and ALWAYS have seen people pulled over. AVOID this town.
